what's up with MSN?!

eh. this is so weird. i was blogging earlier, and i was also logged on to MSN but my status was set to "appear offline".

suddenly, MSN goes berserk and starts opening conversation windows to all of my online contacts, and this appears in my blogger box.

what the hell?! thankfully, MSN doesn't allow you to send or receive messages when your status is "appear offline" so i don't think the message got sent to any of my contacts. instead, it all appeared in my blogger box.

something like this has happened to me before, some time back, and i was online at that time.

i received a message from my friend, and there was a link. i clicked on the link (stupid stupid. ya lah. i know lah! i thought it was genuine, what! it was from a good friend! my friends and i exchange links to shite off the internet via MSN all the time! how was i to know?! gah!) but got supsicious when it prompted me to redirect myself. so i didn't click anymore and closed the window.

and then chaos erupted.

conversation windows started popping open for all my online contacts, and it turned out I WAS NOW SENDING THE LINK TO THEM.

i panicked. i changed my MSN nick to "do not click on anything i send you!!!", sent out messages to my friends to disregard messages/links from me, and logged off.

later, a friend of mine told me that the link was a virus of some sort.

thankfully, none of my friends were as dumb as me (hopefully!) to go clicking on random silly links. after that incident, i still used MSN frequently, with no side effects.

and now, its happened again! wah lau. lucky i set to "appear offline". *phew*

does anyone know what the hell this is? what causes it? and how do i get rid of it!! help!! argh!
